As a Compensation & Benefits Specialist with Coril, you’ll have the opportunity to work hands on with a great team on all things compensation, benefits and payroll related. Reporting to the Manager, People & Culture, this role will be responsible for providing guidance and support to employees and leaders within Coril. This is a full-time role, based in our downtown Calgary office, with the opportunity to work in a hybrid virtual manner, if desired.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Compensation:
Support the annual compensation review process, including preparation of various reporting, completing job evaluations, reviewing market data, and advising on compensation recommendations;
Support the annual performance management and compensation cycles through data analysis, reporting and the development of communications (i.e. memos, total rewards statements, etc.); and
Collect market compensation data and conduct salary survey to ensure that our compensation planning and strategy are aligned to our company goals.
Payroll, Benefits & Pension:
Oversee full cycle payroll processing and compensation administration for our semi-monthly, monthly, and quarterly payroll for hourly, salaried and Board of Director pay;
Owner of benefits administration (health, pension, EFAP, virtual healthcare, executive medical, philanthropic giving), including managing benefits partner relationships and responsible for benefits reporting, renewals and updates, including pension program;
Ensure that internal controls and audit trails are in place and compliance with applicable provincial and federal legislation; and
Responsible for all year-end payroll and regulatory filing requirements.
Record Management, Reporting & Analytics
Maintain human resources and employee information and related records systems;
Build and run monthly, ad hoc and custom reports; and
HRIS administration.
People Programs:
Supporting onboarding efforts;
Supporting review, development and implementation of appropriate HR policies, procedures and guidelines which reflect industry best practice and meet legislative requirements; and
Participating in the implementation of various new HR systems and programs and the resulting change management (inclusive of DEI, employee engagement, culture initiatives to name a few).
Qualifications:
Degree qualified in Human Resources or similar/related discipline. CCP or other relevant accreditations (or willingness to obtain) would be considered a strong asset;
3-5 years of experience in compensation, payroll and benefits administration, including pension programs is required;
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
Strong ability to meet deadlines despite competing priorities;
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with minimal supervision;
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to translate into meaningful recommendations for leadership;
Results oriented combined with an ownership/highlight accountable mindset; and
Working knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems, familiarity with relevant legislation and understanding of schedules.
